Your fresh installation may be different which can change the default given installation path. Change accordingly if needed. I am not familiar with these tutorials, but surely you are able to build and run the code on your own machine? Never mind I think I got it. I had to use the option Start without debugging. I guess when I tried to run it before I was still in debugging mode. I think. But anyway I got to see the output on the screen so thats a start. Thanks for commenting back. You will probably see me here again many many times.

Yes, if you run a console program with debugging the output screen will close when the program ends.
